You'll Toast him in a race. Those new V6's are slow and I think the 93-96's were even slower than the 00-02. Tell him to put some $$$ on the race.

Yeah, you should win. The horsepower #s differed in 93-95 and 96-02. The early V6s were 3.4Ls and had 160 hp. They usually ran mid-high 16s. The 96s and up were 3.8s, and had 200 hp. They can run mid-high 15s. Ive seen one at my local track with lowered tire pressure, and removed air filter run 15.3, completely stock. Unless you spin a helluva lot of tire and hes good at shifting, you should have no problem.

Yeah it won't even be close you will smoke him so bad. I've raced my friends 2000 V-6 Mustang about 3 times or so (which should be faster than the V-6 camaro) and he hasn't even come close to beating me. The first day I had my car I raced him at a stoplight. Beat him by at least 2 car lengths and I was taking it easy (bout 3/4 throttle and shifted around 3500) cause it was the first day I had it. Also raced him on a backroad. He pulled beside me at about 30 and got to my door. It was even for about 2 seconds and then I pulled away when he shifted out of second. By about 85 I must have had 4 or 5 carlengths easy. By the way, I was in third the whole time. Anyway time for me to shut up. Go kill that V-6.

The mustang V6's are slower then the same year Camaro...I believe the stangs are only 160hp. I know they have been upgraded to a higher rating but I'm not sure what it is...

I think you will beat him since you have a 350 , but if you had an lb9 auto it would be close or you might lose . see i used to have an lb9 auto and now i have a 3.8 bird and i had my step brother race me in the iroc and the bird won by a car length at the end of the 1/4 . 15.5 to 15.4 . i am very interested in the outcome . keep us posted! good luck , rob

My friends Mustang that I was talking about is a 2000. 190 hp. I've seen tests too it was faster than the 200 hp 6 cylinder camaro of the same year.
