numbers I am seeing from road and track
0-60 5.5
1/4 14.1

think they do have an lsd to them
but they are a PITA to launch

too easy to bog since all there power is in the higher rpms
and if you try to pull to high of rpms you just sit there and spin the tires

so even though they pull quick times if this guy can't drive you should take him

I say hes got you, but you have to launch those at like 6000 to get a good launch, cause if you don't they bog badly. Hope he can't drive, but don't underestimate him if you pull away off the start those things will chase you down when he gets into the powerband.

I think you will take him. Does the S2000 owner like to rev to 9000rpm? he prolly will puss out because the car is brand new and he wont even get into the power range of the engine.

I think so too. he is REAL careful over the car. nobody is allowed in it with their shoes on. i don't say he'd rev it past five, prolly think his engine is going to blow or something

Well you know if he doesnt rev past 5000, he's prolly not going to get more than 140 horsepower to the ground and probably not more than 100ft-lbs of torque to the ground. I say you will kill him.

I think it was either Car and Driver or Motor Trend that said to get those numbers and the best performance out of the S2000 you had to drive it like you were a teenager or you stole it(something along those lines). If I remember right, they rev to like 9 grand, I don't remember where redline started but I remember it being REAL high. If he's afraid to wind(sp?) out the gears and he isn't good with the stick, then I say you stand a good chance of puttin an S2000 on your kill list =)

i actually raced one and i watched him do his other runs. the best he got was a 14.5 @ 95 and he was running it hard. it was funny because i was pulling on him at the top end and this was before i had the cut-out and had bad plugs and my time on that run was a 14.4x
it was close but they aren't all they are cracked up to be i don't think

It was Motor Trend that said that and they also said that they tried shifting at 5000rpm like a "daily driver" would and the 0-60 time was like 12 seconds. The redline is at 9000 and the hp peak is like 8400rpm. Real high.

I definatly think you have this guy if 1) He can't shift 2) he's afraid to take it to red line. 4 cyl engines don't generally produce significant amounts of power in the lower half of the tach. However, don't quit till you win, cause those things'll have great top end.

I asked him today if he wanted to race in the spring and he said he'll think about it. then i ask what rpms would he be driving it to. Then he said 5-6500 and said thats the highest hes ever gone and that thats all he'll need to beat me. I guess its obvious hes never been in a ride in a camaro yet

If he only revs to 5,00 you'll kill him. The whole reason those are fast is the new engine. It opens up a whole new cam after 5500 rpm. he will run 0-60 in like 8secs. You should be able to kill him. My frind raced one off the line and just killed it. WARNING!!! if you race a long way he will kill you up high!
