What could i run with this combo?

Ive been trying to figure out what to do on my girlfriends 91 Lo3 firebird. And here is what i will likely be able to do (tight budjet).

open element flat base air filter.
ultimate Tbi Mods.
Headers/ y-pipe/ catback.
3.27? 3.42/ or 3.73 posi rear.
maybe a little bit of suspension or at least tires.
Shiftkit.
ignition stuff.
350 injectors?

and for the big stuff
LT1 cam.
Ported 416 casting 305 heads with a 3 angle job and maybe a lil milled off. I already have these and they are half ported already. Does anyone know what engine they are actually from. like stock hp #s. Also should I put 1.6 exhaust valves in? maybe larger intakes too?
Edelbrock performer(have one) or rpm or other 4brl intake. with an adapter for TBI.


How does this sound. Guesses on what it should run? Id really like some info on the heads. Are there any other cheap mods that I am forgetting about?

LSD as in limited slip dif?

I believe that is covered in the 3.42 or whatever POSI I decide to get. call it what you will but if that is what you meant then we are on the same page. otherwise I have no clue what you are talking about.

you didn't get 16s?????

well with my few mods I ran the time in my sig, that was at stock weight, spinning balds, and I only got three runs cause summit racing was at the track the same day I was.

i havent even put plugs in it yet. went 17.3.

Im changin plugs, fuel filter. putting in a bottle of fuel system cleaner in a few minutes.

I have already changed to an open drop base air filter but want a non drop base. I also hollowed out the cat. we should run it again in 2 weeks then Im sure it will be better.

You should be able to nail low 15s with those mods. Who knows though every car acts different to mods it seems.

jeez I was hoping better than that. Ill have to see for my self though. I was figuring mid 14s but am waiting on info on the heads.

I read some posts on tbi 305s in the 13s and that was just a stupid flame war so I stayed out of it. the people on that board are pretty worthless to me so far. Hell I drive a mustang and know more chevy stuff than a large chunk of the peeps here do.

And special thanks to who decide that this was ment for the street racing forum and moved it over here when I thought that it fit in pretty well int the TBI section since that is mainly a LO3 TECH board anyway.

I dont care what size winged/ and tailpiped hondas i could take or I would have asked.

The 416 heads; arent they just 305 TPI heads with the perimeter valve covers? They're not big flowing heads, but they will outflow the swirl ports in the higher RPMs for sure. Mid 14s? maybe. You just gotta do the mods and find out.

I think that with the mods you've listed, the 3.73 posi, and some decent suspesion, you have 14 very easy, maybe not low or mid but definetly 14s, I've seen more with less, so I won't put it past ya, I plan on getting 14s with out pulling the heads or cam before I do a engine swap.
