300zx with big B@!!$

This guy with a 300zx tt was racing a friend of mine in a 87 bird and the bird got completely roasted, after words he would not stop talking s#!^ for the rest of the night. It is my duty as a fellow thridgen racer to help my friend out by smoking this MF.
I know for sure that he is running a crazy cold air set up headers and exhaust with the turbo's running 17 pounds of boost, dual friction clutch on a new 5 speed. can I get this guy or what else can I do short of a bigger engine?

Help us out fellow thridgeners. :hail:

Id say on a 150 shot you could be the one running your mouth all night after you dust him.

You gotta figure that 300Zx running 17psi on each turbo is pretty radical for that car. You gotta figure that car is running atleast a high 13 from the factory adding it's said mods is going to put it somewhere in the 12's I'm guessing(if not better). But with a 150 shot I say go ahead and race him there's nothing at stake so there's nothing to lose really.

You do realize that 17# is 17# doesnt mater if there 1 turbo or 4 ???

I would say youd need atleast a 150 shot and some good traction!!

theres a guy who runs here with the exact same setup in his 300Z, and he runs mid 11s. hes got the motor rebuilt for the add boost, though. i dont know how much boost he is running, but its fast as hell. the one you are trying to beat is probably not that fast, but close. watch out

I have a buddy with a 91 300zx TT 500greddy turbos. That thing screams man. No offense if this guy is running all he is running even with 150 shot you'll prob be short and blow up motor. You need some serious mula to compete with that ride. Thats car is far from a honda civic. Man those TT's are mean as hell so GL and go for it and see what happens.

Reading these posts about the turbo reminds me of an engine that came in this week, to the machine shop where I work. A guy is running a single turbo on his 2.0L eclipse engine. He has quality internals (JE pistons, I-beam Rods), but he is a little ambitious. He was running the car with 30lbs of boost!!! Well anyway, it ran for 20 miles until the thing gave up on him. The rods are scorched, and the heads have seen MUCH better days. The funny thing is, he is trying to put it all back together.

Well I figure that I ran 12.7@108 on all motor with the juice I should be in the mid 11's If he can run faster than that.... well back to the drawing board but I bet that he has spent way more money in his ride than I have with mine and he will not blow me a way I think I got him....

Thats totally possible torun that kind of boost, but you gotta have proper fueling, I know of several turbo buick guys running 27-30# on the STOCK internals!!!!!!!!!!!:hail:

I've always heard those Z's were kind of heavy. Does anyone have a curb weight on them? My friend who's into imports says that's one of the reasons why not many people race them. I think it's because it's a $20,000 car.

I believe that the later 300zs were around 3400 somewhere, i could be wrong, but that's what i seem to remember. Another reason that people don't race them is that the engine bay is really tight. You can do work on them but it sux.
