How fast are these Lt1's

I know how they work and and why they are faster, but I haven't heard people mention 1/4 miles about them. And what does it take to beat a stock one with what i have in my sig.

They are usually high 13-low 14 sec. cars. I'd say u could take 1 now, or give 1 a really good run.

I have seen stock LT1's run 13.3 with no mods on BFG drags.

It really depends on how the car is optioned. A LT1 auto/ 2.73 gears can run as slow as a mid 14's. I'd say the LT1 auto/ 3.23 runs low 14's. The six speed/ 3.42 cars run very low 14's or high 13's with a good driver and traction. It really isnt that hard to catch one...if its stock. LT1's tend to respond very well to mods, so watch out.

I know a guy with a bone stock LT1 six speed (3.42 gears) and he's been running his mouth a lot lately. This guy is a really ****ty driver and isn't exactly a light wieght either. I was behind him on the on ramp to the interstate the other day and he kicked on it. I kept it under three grand and he only pulled about a car length on me. We both let off after about 75 or so. But the car isn't that quick, it feels really fast because of all the low end torque but when it comes down to it, a tpi with a coupla mods can take an LT1. My rear end on my TA is out until thursday, but I plan on racing this guy as soon as my car is back together. I'll let you know how it goes.

If he cant drive well, then in general he'll run slower than the automatic/ 3.23. If you arent ginger with those six speeds you'll end up with hella wheel spin or bogging off the line. If you get a good launch then you've got a good shot.

Ya those LT1s are usually 14 second cars, with a few in the 13s. When modded, they are limitless.

Well I know first hand what an LT1 can do I myself had a 1994 Trans Am GT and one of my very good friends had a 1995 Z28 both were auto's and both had 3.23 gears.

Dead stock was this: Trans Am GT- 14.39@97mph
Camaro Z28- 14.33@98mph

These cars were both in perfect tune at the time.

Times after modifications: Trans Am GT- 13.87@102mph
Camaro Z28- 13.98@103mph

Mods were: Trans Am GT K&N FIPK, Air foil, LT4 Knock module,
Dynomax muffler, AC Rapidfire plugs
1LE elbow

Camaro Z28 SLP Cold air, Flowmaster muffler,
Bosch +4 plugs, Air foil

Even in stock form both cars had no problem beating our other friends lightly modded L98 powered cars.

Auto cars were almost always faster than the 6-speed cars, It doesn't matter how good of a driver anyone is a 6-speed is very hard to launch and to keep consistant times with.

My car had the factory Performance shift option and the Z28 had a B&M Shift Plus. Both really helped.

I had a showroom stock 96 Trans Am A4 w/3.23 gears and 20k on the clock and ran a best of 14.275@96.40 on a hot august day in indiana. The rest of the runs were in the 14.33's so I'd say they are antwhere from high 13's to low-mid 14's depending on the weather. I see people respond all the time to this question saying they have stock LT1's running low-mid 13's but I have a hard time believing this as that's what a stock LS1'll run and NO stock LT1 is going to take a stock LS1! End of story......

Ok let the flaming begin

I'm not going to flame, in fact I agree, those LS1s are sweet cars, and 99.99% of the LS1s will beat equally modded LT1s.
