If it's real old then maybe it's crap and you need a new one.

Otherwise, it shouldn't run down like that so something is draining it.

Get it recharged and keep it inside or if you have to leave it in the car don't connect it. If it goes flat by itself then it's f'cked.

Your LED "scanner" probably killed the battery doing all that "scanning" when you're driving the car!

j/k

Prob need new battery if the old one won't hold a charge for a day.

well i don't think it's my led scanner cuz that thing takes like practically no power and it's been running for months.

i have my car alarm plugged in too, dont' think that takes much power either.

i plugged the seats into the same fuse as the scanner and alarm, but the seats don't take any power unless they're used?

from what i remember, if you have anything electrical running, (led, alarm) then you will always some drain(little) but it seems that you have a battery problem..take it to crappy tire, get them to test it(i do believe its free) and take it from there..you should have like 13.5 or more amps for the battery to be good...

not to be an a$$ but have you checked the water in your battery lately?? it may not have enough water in it...

just a thought

I think it's probably a combination of a toasted battery and the car alarm. If you've got a proximity detector Alex than the alarm is going all the time and thus draining your battery. Having it drained down and recharged a lot put a lot of strain on the battery. So your battery is now junk most likely.

While your car is in storage you should disconnect the battery anyway. If it's being stored in a public place (which I believe yours is) than remove the battery from the car. With no battery and a "club" on the steering wheel, don't worry, no one is gonna steal it.

Alex. You should have the battery disconnected for one when storeing your car...also chargeing a dead battery for 5 minutes is only going to let you start it a couple of times if that. It needs to be trickle charged for at least a hour or two...Try that first...as for your light and gadgets. They will kill the battery in time... guarenteed. If that "Knight Rider" light is going then shut it off or disconnect it. Now I realize your car is in a underground parking lot and you want the alarm to be working...try just wiring up the alarm itself...Don't forget to charge the battery for at least a hour. HTH

If it just started happening yea it's most likely yer seats(changed anything else electrical lately?). Car Alarm should be able to run idle for alot longer than a day.

you need to charge a dead battery for a HOLE day. 5 min will not even come close to charging it (not even an hour or two is long enough). just take it out and charge it for a day and then dont put it back in untill its time to take the car out for the summer.

if you keep up what you are doing. you will kill the battery for good. if you have not already.

I missed the part about 5 minutes. With that said, Trigger and Keiran are right, it must be charged for waaaay longer than that.
