Camaro Firebird wave?
Hey guys I just read a post in the West Coast regional board and the suggestion was to wave at fellow f-body drivers and I like the idea. I used to own a Jeep and pretty much all Jeep drivers wave at each other. CJ5 for anyone wondering. Anyways its a nice show of respect so I am going to throw out a small wave to all Camaro's and TA's I see from now on. What do you guys think?

I'v been donig it for year's
I find the 4th gen's are the least likely to wave back for some reason. Too new to the sport I guess. :P

I do it as well. What I find is a lot of people don't respect what they have. I agree Hawk, 4th gens might as well forget it, they seldom wave back. I always thought it was because they thought their car was better than ours. I would love to see more people ackowledge fellow f body drivers.

I wave like this to people all the time particularly when they're on the phone or parked in the left lane..lol - but yeah, what you're saying is a good idea.

Grew up with motorcycles nodding to dad and my buddy explained the Jeep waving heirarchy in great detail to me, but not always successful when waving (ok, lifting my finger of the wheel and nodding), cuz too often it's still just a car to the driver
As our cars get more rare this will likely be more fun, but how often now do folks at shows get no respect even from other F-bods, cuz we're late model, like they weren't once too!

Man do i hear you there. I have had my share of fast old muscle but none of the "old" crowd really respects the third gens or anything newer for that matter. Precisely why i started this thread because i feel we deserve respect for choosing third gen cars for their obvious improvements over the cars of previous generations. We have a great online presence so I just wanted to acknowledge it on the street

I like waveing at the stuck up people in there $50,000 restored to stock with stock HP antique muscle cars. That is after I have blown their doors off, and everyone that is stuffed in my car is screamin crap and laughing at them.
i think there is already one, alot of the time when i see another thirdgen they always look right at me and then floor it around the corner lol. this happend 2 times today, one was a black firebird that was just bashed to $hit and the other was a white RS both made a right when i was going strate and both floored it around the corner. funny thing is both cars did not give much of a show and chances are they were stock. wish they would have lined up with me lol, then again i think i scared them with my exhaust and cam so they made a right lol.

Wait 20yrs until guys like KEVIN L above have grown up.
Then start the wave thing.
Right now there are too many 3rd gens on the road driven by goofs.
I doubt many of us here today will own a 3rd gen in 2024.
Those of us who will can do the wave .... just like many of the 1st gen guys do today.

I'll be burried in my GTA if I have my way
. I have to sell her now but I'm getting into the oil industry so I'll have the dough to by her back and restore her to mint condition.
And what does the wave actually look like. Is it a quick hand movement and no wrist arching. Or is it totally gheeeey.

I think the nod is beter. Just make sure they see it. The trans am I passed was going a good 40 k and so was I and I noticed his nod easily.
What if it's dark out. Do you wave out he windows as high as possible
hehe

Haha. Its not that the wave is anyting special as in a Camaro specific wave just a simple acknowledgment is all I was thinking of. It can be as subtle as need be. Funny thing though since i have posted this I have waved at a few but none noticed or perhaps they noticed and thought i was baked
