Hey guys, now that I am 1/2 way trough Industrial Design I wanna spend a little time with the car, before my job starts up. And I am broke so body work is my only option... lmao.
Posted this in Body/interior, but natuarally Ontarians are cooler so I would respect you opinions more.

Well, I dont know about anyone else, but I really dont like the huge square turn signals on the front end. I think the whole frontend would be timeless but those... I dunno. Anyhow I just finnished up my 2nd year of Industrial Design, and now I have the skills to change some of this stuff, and work towards a design of my own. Plus body mods are the only thing to do when your flat broke
I was thinking of cutting out the parts around the turn signal, vacuum forming some plastic, and welding it in place. So that there would be 2 intakes there. Make it look a little more modern.
Or just fill them and move them up to the headlight cavity, like in the sketches.
Or fill it and add something smaller and round in it's place.

Here are some exploration sketches I was doing. Should give a better picture:

Looking at that sketch I see something useful like twin .50 caliber GPMGs mounted there rather than turn signals..lol
I don't know schit about design but it seems to me that everything on the front of an IROC (if that's what you have) is huge, square and mean looking so the big ugly turn signals sort of fit in with the original concept.
IMO they pretty much got the design right with those cars once they went to the IROC nose.

Looks cool man.... I need to warn you there are some issues with bonding plastic to urethane... it is possible but certainly not an easy job.
You might consider a headlight swap from the previous generation VW Jetta if you are looking for a cleaner look.
Sketches look good... you have some skills man.

Ya... the feedback I am getting from the other bored is those lights shouldnt be round. And I totally agree now.
Should have some new sketches whipped up tommorow.

PS if you guys ever want me to illustrate something like that Im totally game.

I think these Jetta IV lights are the closest thing to fitting the shape of head light opening on a camaro.... they would give it a flush and they have integrated fog lights and turn signals. I have been thinking for a while about how to graft a set of these in.

Have any pics of them in a car? Cause I can draw them in if I know what they look like in context. And are they the right angle at the face? Because having to aim them up wouldnt fly.

I don't have any pics of them in the car... but they are very close to the same angle... I think they are the closest fit and after that the next closest would be from a late model Nissan 300ZX. Also with the MKIV Jetta lights the bulbs inside the housing can be aimed.
