Trans-Go?
What is a good price to pay for a Trans-Go shift kit. I was talking to a performance parts dealer in Waterloo, and he told me $75.00. I also priced out a new Holley 600cfm w/ electric choke and a spacer plate for about $510.00 with tax. They seem to be cheaper than anyone else. Has anybody ever dealt with Racers Edge? If you have, do they supply quality parts? If anyone has any thoughts on this, I would appreciate it,as I plan on purchasing a carb by the middle of next week.

hmmm i paid 58.95 plus tax for my B&M shift improver kit, and from what i have read trans-go kits are way better so 75 bucks doesnt seem too bad. where is this Racers Edge place located? i might have to check it out sometime.

Racers Edge is located in Waterloo. Their address is 1-643 Colby Dr. Phone # (519) 746-0880.I don't know if it was the name of the shop in The Fast And The Flatulance, or not. That movie was a big disappointment. The 'Cuda WAS awesome.

One more time.......
if it's $75, you are not getting the entire kit. The kit that actually will change the way your car shifts is part #700. It is called the "performance" shift kit. It's also known as the retail kit. It includes all the 700R4 fixes and all the goodies. The $75 kit only comes with the parts that fix a few of the 700R4's problems.
Good point...you really want to check what is included in the kit.
Of course he could be looking at the TransGo kit that includes all the parts to fix while the tranny is still in the car. With the full kit that Acceld is referring to, you won't be able to install everything unless the tranny is fully removed from the car.

I talked to Pioneer Transmission today. I asked them about the Trans-go shift kits. He told me that it all depends on what I want my car to do. I told him that I wanted that chirp going into second gear. I know that my 305 is no power house, I just want a very responsive car. He told me that the Trans-Go is a good quality product and he suggested the Corvette servo. All together, he said he could do all that for about $300.00. The carburetor, will be installed sometime next week.
I was also asking another shop in regards to coils, caps, rotors etc...He suggested that if I was changing all that, that I would be better off getting an MSD Distributor that comes with the cap, rotor, and a performance coil already installed. He said he could get it for me for $260.00. Might be worth it.

The retail Transgo kit comes with a knockoff 'Vette servo assembly. $300 installed sounds pretty reasonable. I just did mine and I did not enjoy myself.
