AFPR----the best kind??

I was just curious as to what AFPR brand and style everyone would recommend. I was kind of thinking of a Holley one listed as p/n HLY-512-502 in Summit...as it listed is should work on our cars. I also wonder what guage everone recommends, I would like an Autometer one...but was unable to find one...maybe I just didn't look hard enough, but I also want one that is underhood, so it is more functional when i'm adjusting it. If anyone has any suggestions they would be welcome.

PS. If you have any p/n's and/or sites/dealers to buy from this would come in gread handy!!

AFPR are all basically the same. They have a screw sticking out of them and you turn that to change pressure. Personally, I don't know what the differences would be from one piece to the next, so I say go for the cheapest one. They should all about the same.

As far as the gauge... it all depends. I have a guage that stays under the hood, hooked up and reading all the time. Accell gauge. It was like $30 and works/looks good from what I can tell. You may not want a gauge hooked up and under your hood all the time, in that case get one that hooks to the schrader valve.

For ease of use I would highly recommend the Holley one. Otherwise, there is no other AFPR that sticks out above the rest.

The Accel gauge appears to be treating me fine as well.

I ordered the bbk one from summit. I sent the order the 8, and they said it was on back order till the 22. I checked today and they said it would be May 11. All the other parts I ordered came within a few days.

I cant put my intake back together untill I get my AFPR. Its holding me up.

Get the Holley. It comes with a diaphram and spring setup that is IMO far superior to the stock one. Plus it is way easier to adjust than any other one out there. I had one from JET and it was a PITA to adjust.

Thanx for the responses guys,

I am seriously considering buying the holley AFPR now, but i'm curious as to what Accel guage your guys are using. Are all of you using an underhood model, or do some of you mount it inside, eventually i will hope to have both, as I can monitor it all the time, however for right now I will probably only need one underhood, and I am thinking it will be permanent under there, I see no need to take it out and it will look good when I pop the hood to show off. Do you have a p/n or supplier of that guage, does summit just sell it, cuz i have not found it online

Thanx again for the advice.
