Well it leaves something to be desired in the ways of Looks, but If it gets the Job done, thats the #1 priority.

Anyone who can't fab up a CAI for these car's thats at least that good shouldn't own One in the first place

Way to be.

paint it all semi-gloss black, clearcoat it... and polish the metal straps and it'll look alright.

I'm making a CAI out of PVC too.... i'll post pics in a few weeks.

If you really want to make it look custom, sand the edges of the PVC elbow where it flares up just to round them out a bit, then get some carbon fiber and wrap the whole thing thats what Im going to do with mine when I get it totally worked out.

Why doesn't anyone build their CAI by routing the piping in front of the radiator? Sure there's an extra bend BUT you shouldn't get ANY engine compartment heat that way.

Likewise, a temporary $10 solution to my problem. SLP is just too rich for my blood on their CAI.

Amazing stufff....check my site.

It takes your setup a little further (makes it look clean).

Enjoy. It's been in the tech articles for a few months now.

Is the above CAI alumized steel, zinc steel, or aluminum? Just curious where you got the bends. I'm going to fab something similar when the new motor is done. Thanks! -Jerod

there was a noticable power increace over the stock system
according to the my sotp dyno
i like them because it takes that sharp bend out of th stock elbow and the sharp bend coming from the air box to the stock tubing

My battery is in the hatch well in a moroso sealed box, but firebirds *maybe not all of them not sure* come with driver side batteries.

Hey that looks like mine except I used exhaust tubing instead of plastic piping. Works pretty good too and only cost $46. Can't beat that kind of deal.
