52mm throttle body too big for my combo?

I installed a 52mm throttle body with a hypertech airfoil, and it has seemed to lost some power.

My combo is:

-AS&M large tube runners
-fully ported plenum
-Edelbrock manifold
-SLP CAI
-modified maf
-SLP cat back exhaust
-24# matched injectors w/AFPR
-10" non-lockup 2500 stall converter
-stock 3.27 gear
-Stock heads,cam,exhaust manifolds

I do have SLP 1 3/4 headers in the garage waiting to be installed. I adjusted the TPS and IAC. Timing is at 12 degrees.

I am thinking there is too much air coming in and not enough flow for it to come out.

I'll be going to the track this week. I did not get another baseline with the new mods with the 48mm T/B.

Any input?

Thanks!

You're likely associating a loss of low end torque for a loss of "power" a 52mm isn't "TOO BIG" for your combo, but your combo sounds slightly off.

Have you prom tuned for those 24lb/hr injectors? I'll bet your BLM's are plenty off and you could recoop alot of power right there.

No PROM burning yet. I have been using the AFPR to control fuel. I have had them on there for about 5 years when my stock GM injectors fried out.

It does seem to have a little more power in the top end. Doesn't wheeze at 4,600RPM's anymore.

Anyone you can recommend to help me burn a PROM? I don't know mu ch about doing it and would rather not play with that stuff myself.

well im sorry to hear you say that, its been made almost idiot proof, hell im surprised there isn't a "Prom burning for dummies" book yet, but anyways if you truely opt not to do it yourself (Which would probably cost less and be more effective than...) then you should probably go to Ed Wright for a custom chip.

Even though they usually come out running pretty rich

lol ills econd the tune it ourself and ed wright chips come out running rich :-) i know i hhad one burned my own and better off now :-)

As far as a 52mm tb goes why does gm use a 48mm on the ramjet 502 @ 502hp? :-) seems to be beter gains for your money elsewhere in my opinion

Let me make sure I am understanding the PROM issues:

With my combo of increased intake airflow and bigger than stock injectors, most likely the ECU is dumping fuel at WOT because the BLM's are still acting like it has stock parts?

I don't get any bogging, but does seem to run rich at all times. The O2 readings at idle are around 250-300 average. I have a friend with a Diacom that can help me tune the fuel curves and spark tables.

I have installed a MAT relocator into the intake bellows. I am sure this may be another source of my tuning issues regarding the PROM?

Maybe Glenn will chime in here....

Thanks for your help!
