Throttel cable to short with new Throttle Body

I put on a 52mm throttel body on my 91 350 tpi. the bracket is slightly different and the main throttle cable is now about 1/2" too short. In other words if I put the little metal cylinder on the end of the cable into the hole, and thread the cable around the bracket, it is holding the throttle slightly open and idles about 2000 rpm. I took it off and put some wire around the end of the cable and then put the other end of the wire through the hole on the bracket, and It works, but this is not a permanent solution obviously. It could break, it looks like crap, it is crap, etc.

Is the throttle cable adjustable somehow, maybe down where it connects to the accelerator linkage.? Anybody have any other ideas for permenanent, more professional fix?

It's an LT1 throttle body right? Can you compare it to your stock one to see if your newer one use 'thinner' than the stock one? Or does the throttle cable connect furthur up on the newer throttle body.

setting the old throttle body next to the LT1 one mounted on the car. the connector hole for the throttle cable is about 1/2" farther forward, due to itsl location on the rotating bracket.

The cable has got to be replaced with a longer one, or I was thinking there might be some extra cable where it connects on the other end, I haven't looked yet, or possible extended by splicing on a little piece in the are betweeen where the covering ends and it startes going into the groove on the throttle body bracket.

Yeah, thanks for the pigtail, that part went fine. I did have to elongate the mounting holes on the TPS I bought adjust it and get rid of a code 22, TPS low voltage. This stupid cable thing is bugging me though. I've got a piece or wire wrapped around the end of the cable to the hole right now and I want to go racing this weekend. Sure thing that little wire will break right as I jam it to the floor coming of the line racing some POS Mustang and I'll end up cruising down the track at 850 rpm and get run a 29 second run or something, hahah. Could be embarassing.
Whats a Lokar cable, different brand? Maybe I could get a new cable thats longer and just cut off the excess. I assume they are already cut to length, but I dont know that for a fact.
good luck with your car too.

Hey, what happened to that foto? Im thinking about just getting one of those Lokar cable for $32 on summit, but I wanted to check how it connects to the TB in the picture. They have a picture on Summit and it says they are for early and late model GM tuned port injection cars, so I guess I should be able to make it work, assuming its long enough. Id appreciate looking at that foto one more time
thanks
