stealth ram+ cam? vs
let me start off that my boss is redoing his motor in his 88 iroc w/ 305tpi 5spd. hes gonna scrap the whole 305tpi, thing and gonna go with-
-350(4 bolt main block)
-kieth black pistons, stock crank balanced, summit stage 2 rods.
-holley stealth ram
-edelbrock heads
-lt4 roller rockers
-msd 6al, 8.5mm wires,dist
-edelbrock tes headers 1-5/8"
what cam do u guys suggest and how much power do u guys think he will push with that combo, if you guys think anything should be changed, shout it out, hes open for all suggestions. just don't say get a blower or nos, or something like a 400sbc.
hes also thinking about just dropping in a LT4 w a hotcam, will this make more power??

I agree with going with the AFRs.
A comp grind in the neighborhood of 218-224* for the intake and 220-230* for the exhaust will work well. I think the LT4 hot cam falls right into that parameter. Good luck.
I am going to be switching over to the stealth ram intake myself this summer, when this semester is done and I save some bread.
Let us know how things turn out.

I was in the same boat, Mini-Ram was more that I wanted to spend.
You guys should check out the May 2003 issue of GM High Tech mag. THey did an installation of the stealth ram on a 86 z28 350.
It gives lots of info, pictures, prices. I found it very informative and for me, ironical, because i was thinking about it and needed some info.

Stealthram is only ~$450 plus maybe 100 for fittings and fuel lines. $1000 sounds like you are looking at the setup with the wiring harness and ECM, which is a waste for 95% of all engine setups.

Hey Brad
I see from the link to your car info, you are running the Stealth Ram. How do you like it? Do all of the accesories and sensors mount ok? Let me know what you think of it because I am curious to know before I decide which intake to use. Thanks in advance.

I don't have any test runs yet as the transmission is currently out of the car (sucks getting everything together, starting the car, and finding out the transmission is bad). However, the installation was fairly painless. Everything bolted on just as it should. The most difficult thing was getting all of the correct barb fittings for all of the vacuum items and the PCV. The fittings are easily available at Home Depot or other hardware stores, but I ended up going back two times to get everything I needed . Fuel lines are pretty easy also, just four -6 AN fittings, maybe 6 feet of braided hose, and 2 adapters to adapt your stock fuel lines to the -6 AN fittings.
Hopefully I'll have actual performance numbers soon. In maybe a month or so the transmission will be fixed and I'll get the car on the dyno here at work.
