anyone using this cam

Comp Cams Extreme Engery 282 hydro roller
Here are the specs:
Dur. intake-230 exhaust-236
lift intake-.510 exhaust-.520 with a 1.5rocker

Im looking in to swapping this cam in, and just wanted your opinions on it. My mods are as follows:
-355 with 9.5 to 1 compression
-holley stealth ram
-edelbrock preformer rpm heads
-full exhaust
-full msd ignition
-holley DFI
-2500 stall

How well do you guys think it will work with my combo. Thanks in advance.

Im thinking of switching to that cam also.Over on camaroZ28.com the LT1-4 guys are pulling some good numbers using that cam.The rpm range of that cam looks like it will work well with the stealth ram. Also Im using a 2500 stall with the smaller hot cam and could use a little more.A 2800-3200 stall would be better for the comp cam.

yep

get ready for lump lump lump.........

i had stealth ram before i decided to go carb........

i had that cam ground on a small base circle and with a 112 lsa for the fi...... i lost 50hp but i gained over 20lb and have much more torque between 2000, and up due to the wider lsa.......

it's a good cam, never stalled in traffic with a stock converter and runs really well.....

although i have a 383, i say you will have equally as good results with a 355..... karpsta is running that cam and has had it longer so where you at karp?

if possible i would get that cam with the same specs but with a little more lift to take advantage of say high flow alum heads....

badgta... what do you mean you lost 50 hp but gained 20 lbs?

also, do you have a sound clip of your idle with the cam and stealth ram?

I'm running that cam and I'm pretty happy with it.
Lots of low-end grunt.
I give it -

EDIT - I have a short vid of my car running.
You can find it on Kazaa under "Ragtop89s Camaro".
I'll have kazaa running for the rest of the afternoon if you want to DL it.

with a wider lsa you literally lose hp due to the lower overlap...

i'm pretty sure its what happens when you have a wider lsa and it fills the cylinders better..... wider lsa will give better volumetric effency at lower rpms, thats why i make more torque bottom end than a regular 282hr with a 110* lsa......

i unfortunantly don't have a sound clip but it has about the same lope as triaxons camaro, if ya head to the exhaust board he has a clip of his car in a long tube header thread....

and a little lope is a understatment...... be prepared for vibrating and the hole car shaking and **** from it.. but driving feels as normal.....

maybe mines do to the duals and 40's but still it has alot of lope.....

just get the heads ya need or you will be killing your motor big time..... and regular tpi, forget it.....

hmmm

well it wasn't really shaking it but more a vibrating....... the idle held around 600rpm, it went away when you went any higher.... just lopey as hell, and it rattled the interior like hell.....

i think it was due alot to the duals with the 40's topping them off.... i had the engine balanced so i know its right...... but yeah it's just a real big cam with alot of lope.... nothing more
