i use a lt1 cam from a 94 trans am. the car was mine to begin with so it was free. i did use 1.6 roller rockers but on the third gen stock springs coil bind if u adjust them more than 0 lash
The cam has 205 dur @.050 and i think a .447 lift intake lobe and a 115 lobe sep. not very much duration but it has more lift than an iroc cam 202 dur and .410 lift. the lobes seem to have a faster ramp than oem Iroc cams. i was thinking on conical springs, at stock Iroc height, they will allow at least .550 lift. i was going to try that with 1.72 full roller rockers:hail: not sure how it will run
was thinking keeping the stock stall cause short duration will retain low end and the extra lift will flow better up top? what u think?although i did like the cc-276 hr i put in the forth gen i had

Do not waste your time or money on an Lt1 cam, youll be VERY dissapointed. If your gonna do it, do it right. Look into the 2032 cam. It will work with your stock heads, as the ZZ4 cam will requre machine work due to the .510 ehxaust lift.

I would get a hot cam if your planning on upgrading your heads and intake later. Otherwise i would just get 1.6 RR's. I doubt you will see much increase swapping to an lt1 cam. The people that do see increases are swapping from peanut-camed 305's. If you have MAF 86-89 system, are planning on new heads and intake later, and don't have to worry about emissions i would get the hot cam. I daily drive my car with a 270HR (very similar to the Hot cam), I lost a little torque down low and am running rich at idle especially at start up, but it runnes great and is fun to drive. Unfortunatly i can't say how it drove before because i bought it with a knocking engine.
