The thread that nasty is talking about tells everything that is needed to start burning chips. It doen't tell anything about how to burn them or what to change. From everything that I have been reading, it is all trial and error. Read through the DIY Prom board. One of the moderators may move this thread to that board anyway.

Most OTC chips are junk(Hypertech,ADS etc). If you dont wanna get into prom burning ide have to recommend Ed Wright. Hes got the experience and know how to get your setup running the way its suppose to be. The only draw back is its gonna set you back about $400.

Or you can try tbichips.com, save some money and still get a good chip.
Has every conceiveable 3rd body question already been asked on this forum? It seems that quite often when people have questions they are just redirected to do a search, or some other inane response is given, not always, don't get me wrong, I have actually received alot of help, and it is greatly appreciated, but time and time again I see that "do a search" crap, If you are going to bother reading the post and then responding to it why not give an actual answer?
I can't imagine how many people are going to flame me for that but I 've always wanted to say it, so there its said.

I agree, it takes very little effort to write a reply to a easily answered question, but the fact that there is a sticky with the answer to just about every novice question to PROM burning at the top of the forum changes the context of the situation. No flame
i wasnt trying to flame you or anything.i was just saying that there is alot of info floating around on this board.one thing i did find was howell efi sells proms for 90 bucks or so how good they are ive got no clue.thatis the cheapest ive seen a chip for.
