Dead lined!!!

ok first off this is my cousins name so disreguard the car info
i have an 86 trans am with a 305 fuel injected tpi automatic

it has new plugs...cap...rotor...coil for the ignition system

today i was driving around town and it started to bog down when i gave it gas...so i did it a few more times and it kept doing it...so i gave it a lil' more gas and it backfire...so i pulled into the post office and let it sit for like 5 minutes....then went to drive home ( only about a mile) and there is a hill....and upon climbing it to get out of the drive i stalled and it wouldn't start...so i let it roll down...let it sit for about a minute it and it started up...rough.....and i babied it on the way home....got in the drive way pulled it into the garage....and now it won't start at all...won't even act like it wants to...so i called up my 2nd cousin who is an expert mechanic and owns a shop and he told me to check plugs...intake housing to filter....fuel filter...make sure the rotor didn't come loose...make sure there was no moisure in the cap...and he gave me a procedure to check and see if it jumped timing....everything was nice..so i put a new coil in at that point for the hell of it...and it just rolls over...
give me all you guys got....i'm lost....and unhappy

$20 says its your fuel pump. Ask me how I know! Get a fuel pressure guage and stick it on the shcraeder valve on the back side of the passenger fuel rail. If you are seeing less than 40 psi of fuel pressure when you try to crank it over, your fuel pump bought the farm. It should read nearly 50 psi. When mine went, it read about 20 psi.

Fuel filter maybe. Check that out. Wouldn't be bad just to change it anyways. Especially if it hasnt been done in a while.

Borrow your expert mechanic cousin's fuel pressure test guage.

Also the fuel pump is not all that hard to change just time consuming, very time consuming. If you can, ask to use a rack at your expert mechanic cousin's shop. That makes the job much easier.

Sounds like you found the problem!

If you still want suggestions then I recommend you check your tire pressure
