superram/afrs/stock cam
a friend of mine has an engine sittin around wich was an corvette l98.now it has afr 190s,superram and the stock l98 cam.he had a more agressive cam in it,but he claims it was to wild for street use(lumpy idle,no low end power...).he has not dynoed it.we both wonder how much power this combo makes.and at what rpm it falls on its face.id say 350hp at 4500,he claims 400 at 5200(both at the flywheel).what do you guys think?what would it run in the quarter in an f-body?

WRT to what it could run? In theory it could be in the 11's. In practice, the way most 3rd gens end up you'll be lucky if you see 13's. FWIW, I've run 13.5's in a formula with a stock L98 with a cold air intake and cat back, pretty much stock otherwise.

when he built the engine years ago,he talked to lingenfelter personally and he said only for steet use the stock cam with 1.6ratio rockers is just about right.and yes it was the 219/219cam.to unstreetable for my friend, hes got like 10mpg with that cam,he claims.that definately to low for an daily driver.but ok thats my firends opinion.maybe i will get this engine for my car and i def. wont go with the stock cam.but i dont know what cam to pick.what cam can i pick with the stock computer?i want a cam with good low end power right of stall speed(2000),and with some decent top end.i dont go to the strip, only steet use.internals are stock l98 with 10k miles, would that engine hold together with lets say a 100shot juice?thanks for opinions.

yeah man he used the stock chip.is it that much a difference with a mild cam?it would surge, die at idle and so on.cus we dont live in the us,who makes good chips for such combos?i mean without having the car there?

Car: 91Z
Engine: 355/afr/sr/lpe219
Transmission: built 700R
Wow, no wonder the car ran like crap! You can get a mail order chip, whitch will be your best bet(if you can't do it yourself. DO NOT go with TPIS for a prom!! You could try fast chip(ed wright I think it is) or, LPE recommends FAST PROM because they say fast prom know there cams well.

what do you think, will the 211/219cam have a better low end than the 219/219.the 219/219 seems a liitle big to me.or is an lpe camshaft a must for the superram, are the no other good cams avaiable?wich would you prefer with afr190 and the superram for a daily driven car?

Car: 2015 Camaro Z/28 & 2013 Super Bee

Hmm, I have AFR 190's, SR and LPE 219 and think it's extremely mild. Easily a daily driver combo. I recommend he put the 219 back in and get some tuning. I had my stock PROM in for a little while and it ran rough, would stall. I haven't tuned mine yet, but I burnt a PROM w/ the ARAP.bin on it with a couple changes to fit my motor, and it drives well and makes decent power.

he has an 219/219cam layin around.we will either put the engine in his camaro or my gta and then see how it performs.he claims when it was in his car it was exactly what he wanted, with stock cam/1.6rrs.i think with the 219cam its possible to get 400hp/tq out of it,that would be the goal.
