OOPS!! Is this going to be a problem???

I was taking the top of the engine apart tonight and happened to put a ding in one of the front runner tubes. Can I just use something to push it back out from the inside? Or is it screwed? If so, whats the best place to get a new one. Its the driverside. Would now be the time to get siamesed runners? Will a small ripple in one runners make performance suffer? Thanks, Tim

i would not suggest trying to pry the dent back out as these tubes are very thin and may crack it wont hinder performance..

I used a piece of broom handle, it came out good. Its just a little wavy. Now that thats solved, whats the best way to clean the inside? I was figuring a bottle brush and solvent. Any suggestions? Thanks again, Tim

Stock runners are so restrictive anyway, you would hardly notice a performance change with a small ding...

Looks bad though if it very noticable...

ya, I just used a socket extension and tapped very lightly with a very small hammer, but now that I think about it a broom handled with very rounded top would probably be safer. If your polishing them sand them like normal and the ripples will go away. After buffing you'll never know they were there.

heh, mine are all banged up from whoever's car they came out of. tpi doesnt put up a fight to begin with, and while every little bit counts, a few dents wont hurt anything.
