gas leak?
So I had(ve) and issue in my 89 350 tpi where once the car got warm and then I turned it off, it would not start back up, it would just turn and turn but not fire, until at least an hour went by, in which it would start again. I was told it was most likely the control module or also possibly leaky fuel injectors. The thing now is that it appears to be leaking gas when it is running, not alot, but enough to make gas puddles if the ground is wet, (the snow is melting around here, so the ground is always wet.) Im just wondering if there is any possible way that if the injectors are leaking that somehow it is making it to the ground???? seems totally impossible to me, but im not sure where the gas is coming from, the bottom of the car is pretty clean so a busted line seems unlikely to me... i dunno, any help would be appreciated, also if im lacking details just tell me, ill post more. thanks guys.
Check the flexable fuel lines where they screw into the fuel rail. oou will have to take them loose to look at the oring. These have a oring in them and if they leak there it will leak onto the ground without getting on the car if i is leaking. As far as the hard start without sitting sounds like a leaky injector, so you may have two problems. I dont see a leaking injector leaking enough that it would not get gas on top of intake if i was leaking that much, I feel you will fing the oring bad where it hooks up to fuel rail right under the throttle body. Hope this helps, have saw this problem numerous times.

Check out any joints in the fuel lines and the fuel rail for leaking. It should be easy to find. Then look into the hard starting.

In my case, hard starting when warm was fixed by replacing the pickup coil in the dist. Could also be the ignition module. Try the pickup coil first.

Nothing runs by the oil filter but its not impossible for it to be dripping from the back of the fuel rail. The other possibility is the lines running under the body and up the drivers inner fender.

The back of the fuel rail? Is there a line going back there? From what I can tell there are 2 lines coming out the front, and the injectors don't appear to be leaking. Thanks, Ben
