Fuel Additive causing ( not helping) WOT ping???

Fuel Additive causing ( not helping) WOT ping???
Well fellas, I have noticed this lately. Every other tank I run a bottle of STP fuel additive/gas treatment in the red bottle to my tank. I noticed that when I run that, it seems to ping alot more under wot, whereas without it, the car feels much stronger on just 91 octane. Weird, but I just wanna know if theres any truth to this, or something in this formula that caused the fuel to maybe burn slower? Am I insane??? Thanks guys

You have a nice car and I wouldn't suggest running any fuel additives. If you think you have a certain problem then fix the problem without adding anything in.

more octane causes the flame to burn longer so you should not be pinging,i dont use fuel additives personally,i will mix 87 octane with 100 octane though.

Its weird because I have some other problems,my maf is going out, and I am almost ready to swap to speed density. Also my fuel pump is bad I suspect amount other things. So I just wondered if this was contributing. It sucks I cannot really push my car because I am afraid. The pinging is quite audible and I don't wanna cause any(more) damage.

Have your car hooked up to a scanner and you will be able to see which of the sensors, if any, isn't working properly causing your timing problems..

keep it mas airflow do not change to sd look at all gm cars&trucks are maf,the octane boost that works is sold at kragens is nos with nitro additive black box silver bottle like 10.99

Forget MAF, I've seen the light. The only thing remotely nice about maf is ease with compatibility. Its so restrictive, there is only so much air you could ever force through that dinky maf. MAF is great, but not for our cars,the ecms just weren't designed to handle increased performance. With SD skys the limit, and I have enough chip savy friends to where it won't be a prob for me.
