lets talk slaves...

lets talk slave cylinders. we did what the directions said, and i know the slave was filled with just fluid, barely any air at all. we hooked the slave to the truck to exact way it says in the swap book. we've been bleeding it exactly the way that we did on both camaros. now. it only moves, maybe, 2 inchs when u push the pedal to the floor. any ideas? could my master cylinder be gone?

also anybody know where i can get a METAL slave cylinder? these plastic ****s are...well..****!!!...the bleeder screw stripped out and on my brothers camaro the thing blew apart on him

now i know that the master should work and all with this slave. so thats not an issue.

could it be that the clutch pedal was depressed while the slave was off the bell houseing? and screwed up the master cylinder?

What? OMINOUS_87, try not to be too PC here. Being on a CAR tech website, the 1st thing I thought of before I clicked on the thread was clutch slave cylinder. Where was your mind?

The only crime that I see is posting in the wrong forum...someone please move to Transmissions.

Sorry, I don't know where/if an all metal slave cylinder exists...Hopefully someone else can help...

I thought it was very offensive. There is no reason in the world why cylinder wasnt put after "slaves.

Do you comonly refer to them as slaves cylinders? That would be rediculous.

When something could be easily precieved to be offensive, in my opinion, it is best to walk cautiously.

OMINOUS_87...Since I don't know you...I will give you the benefit of the doubt here...that you actually could be classified by the government as a minority and that you are not just a white guy with emotionally driven political issues. The topic should have been titled accurately, not as a defense against offense, but rather to garner actual clutch hydraulics discussion.

Jackman5003...how are guaging movement of the slave? I thought movement was supposed to be about 5/8". Check out the other threads in the Transmission forum dealing with T-5 engagement/disengagement issues...

and i remembered last night that i didn't say when the clutch pedal was depressed. it was depressed with the OLD TRUCK slave, not this new one. but would that screw up just the old slave or just the master or both???

haha and sorry i posted it in the wrong forum, i'm so used to posting in TPI...yea...haha. could someone transfer it over for me please?

also, when u say 5/8 of movement. do you mean the fork or the slave? because the rod in the cylinder only moves 2 inchs, i don't know how much the fork moves. never took notice.

Read the hot T-5 threads in the Transmission area first

As part of troubleshooting for engagement issues, there is a lot of info covered here...read these threads and see if your troubleshooting covers all the angles.
