First Injection TPI
Anyone with a built 350 or a 383 swap out to a First Injection style TPI setup?
Want to see what those almost 2 inch runners do on bigger cube engines?
And no, I dont want regurgitated magazine tests, I wnat someones before and after dyno's or timeslips

I'm sure you have seen the post below, but I copied it for reference. I was following BadSS, TPI383, and german-motorsport for some time as they are both running first set-ups. Maybe we can convince them to chime in!

Have you talked to Ken at firstinjections.com? I talked to him in April and again in July about dyno results for a first set-up but I still don't see any results on his webpage.

All the same old stuff on them is floating around and seems any interest has died? I know a few people here run it, where are dyno times or some before and after track experiences?
oh well lol
Its still a lot of $$$$ more than a Stealthram but damn lol Im gonna have a 383 and the TPi look would be bad

Still haven't made it to the track yet. We had plans to go today but looking at radar,,, it looks like it's raining at the track again this week end. I'm waiting on a call from a friend in that area to know for sure.
I'm expecting to see low to mid 12.5s if the temps are still in the 80s when I finally get it to the track with the unported intake on the mild 355. The car ran low 12.6s with the StealthRam with temp in the high 80s before very mild bowl work to the heads. I'm estimating the unported FIRST will run a fraction slower than the StealthRam,,, between .08 and .15 seconds. The StealthRam with the bowl work shoud run in high 12.4s to low 12.5s range. If I can ever get it to the track, the dyno testing will come soon afterwards,,, it's not dependent on weather conditions.
I will say where the FIRST unit is going to shine is fully ported with the middle of the runners welded up (just the bottom half would be OK) so you can siamese them,,, on a larger cubic inch engine with the potential to make 600 or so horses. I've got such an engine in my other car,, and will be modifying the FIRST unit for it as soon as I can finish up with the testing on the 355.

Just kinda curious to see someone with real numbers :-)
Got this silly 383 with vortec heads coming back in about a week and said silly engine also has a silly 8.5 to 1 comptession ratio for some future seriously silly unnatural aspiration.
Kinda like the TPI thing, but if the First stuff isnt up to snuff then its back the the Stealthram for vortecs when its available.
just would be so freaking cool

hmmm
Okay, I'll bite -
I have an '85 T/A with TPI that has only 61,000 documented, CarFax verified miles on it, but I found three small rust spots. I hate rust, so, it's not a restoration candidate like my '87 is. However, since it is in such great shape mechanically, I am thinking of doing everything that can be done to a small block while retaining the TPI setup in semi-modified form - I still need to figure out more about First Injection. What do you know about it?
Obviously, a dyno run before and after would be a must to see what really happens at the rear wheels when all is said and done. I love tech tips and tricks, but the real proof happens where the rubber meets the road. Or the dyno, I guess.
Let me know if this is sort of what you had in mind.
This car will be competing with an airplane for time and money, but it will likely get done sometime in the next 6 months or so. Well, I suppose a car is never really done, but you know what I mean.
