Injectors for 305 TPI

I just bought a 92 Z28 with a 305 TPI witht 101000 miles on it. I'm thinking about replacing the injectors. Has anyone tried these and are they worth what they are asking? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...ategory=33554. Thanks.

The stock injectors for a 305 TPI are 19lbs, those injector are rated higher than the stock injectors so you might have a rich condition with them. Is your motor stock? ECM chip stock? If you replace with 21lbs you will need to adjust for that with the chip so you get the proper fuel/air mix if it is even possible. I am running a 305 TPI with siamesed intake, SLP runners, Ported and polished plentum, BBK 52mm TB, S/R torquer heads, Compucam, headers and a ThermoMaster chip and the SVO 19lbs provide more than enough fuel at any given throttle position. My fear would be the 21lbs would provide to much fuel and wouldn't be gaining any performance over stock 19lbs.

The engine is stock. So what your saying makes sense. What about these injectors? Will these fit my 92Z28? Or does someone have another suggestion? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33554

Those look a little better, they are 19lbs. What is wrong with the injectors you have now? If they don't have any problems, I would clean them up and reuse. $175.00 off of Ebay seems a little steep, have you checked Jegs, Summit for price of 19lbs??

I just bought the car and I like to go through it and replace things. That way, I know when things were done. I don't think there is anything wrong with the injectors, was going to get them cleaned and tested, seems most places wanted around $120.00. Thought for the price of new ones, I would just replace them.

I understand what you mean, I am the same way. I would look to see what a new set will costs verses buying them off Ebay, if they are a couple of bucks more, why not get new so if something is wrong with them you can exchange them.

I too am looking for injectors and was going to go the Fiveomotorsport.com route but when I contacted them with a question about the 19lb injectors for a 91 305 TPI, I got this reply,

"We sell only the 22lb injectors for the 91 305 TPI engines."

Now I'm confused, I thought that all of the 305's used 19lb injectors.

What gives?

Your right Scott, Not sure, maybe their injectors are rated a little different or something???? If no one else chimes in, I would shy away from them if I where you guys. Just cause they are cheaper does not mean they are going to be useful. As they say" you get what you pay for"
