i need to plug the 9th injector where it attaches on the fuel rail. can i use JB weld for this? will it hold with the fuel pressure? i cant find any type of cap to use on it. i need to fix it tonight so i dont have time to order some specialized plug off kit.

any ideas?

I would not trust epoxy for this job. I put a bolt/nut combo with washers and alot of silicone sealant (BTW: one of the three most important inventions of all time) to do this job, and a bit of red thread locker too.

No, I dont.

If I remember correctly, that back piece that the 9th injector runs off of the fuel rail is removable. AFTER relieveing the fuel pressure, take it apart. What you will do is to remove that metal line going to the 9th injector. It will pull back thru the piece you remove from the back of the fuel rail. The bolt size is probably the diameter of that metal fuel line.

Killjoy, what I did was remove the plug from the rail and remove the ninth injector fitting from it. I then had a machinist friend weld up the hole for the ninth injector fitting in the plug. I then had him face off the back of the plug in a lathe. Put the plug back in the rail and have had no problems with it in the three years since I had it done. If you do this, remember to remove the o-ring from the plug first for use afterwards.

AS&M has the plug for the runner and the plug for the end of the fuel rail.
IMHO this is the "best' way to do it.
It was pretty inexpensive IIRC.

the prob is that the fitting for the rail appears to be metric or some other specialized thread as I could not find a bolt at any of the hardware stores that fit. had to order my plug bolt from S&P and the plug for the runners from them.

you could leave the injectors in and just unplug them.
or did you get new runners?
