gas mileage lugging engine?? with new t56
ok guys well ive only been getting like 150miles -200 for a full tank of gas like 14gallons when i fill... and most of its highway...with a few hard shifts....now my 6th gear is ridicilously tall .51 with my rear end ratio being 3.27 i cant tell if im lugging the engine on the highway in 6th so heres a break down
at 1500rpms exhaust note is so loud i cant tell (muffler disconnected) it seems to not accellerate very much...but thats 65mph at around 1700rpms engine seems to do better hold speed ...i am lightly tapping the throttle though...id say no more than 10%
or the other culprit is my new 24lb injectors with stock chip i need your guys help what is a good way to tell if i am lugging the engine...cause i sure the heck cant tell used to my grand am now thats slow accelleration

You're way fat. Get a new PROM with a revised fuel table. I had the same problem with 24 lb/hr injectors.
I get roughly 19-20 MPG of mixed use driving with my T56 and 3.73s. I lay into it quite often too. What's the fun of having a 6 speed if you can't row the gears hard?

Assuming stock cam you should be fine. Lower your fuel pressure, the 24# is within 10% of the stock 22's so your computer should be able to handle it with lowered fuel pressure.

You won't be able to compensate with an AFPR. I tried that. Even with fuel pressure set much lower than factory I wasn't able to get the mixture lean enough. The bolt on the regulator actually hit the plenum I had it backed out so far.
You don't want to run lower than stock fuel pressure either. It's bad for power. You should run right at the top of the stock spec, which is about 44 PSI I believe. Get a new PROM calibrated for that and you'll be very happy with the results. I know I am.

I get 23 on the interstate with 3.70's and a 4-barrel. .5:1 overdrive is a beautiful thing.
I expect it to go up a touch when I swap her back to EFI (going StealthRam with a '7727.) I'll be burning my own as well.

The chip in my car was burned by TPIS with information I supplied. It wasn't cheap, but it works very well. If you've got fairly common engine setup it is easy for them to burn you a chip. Another option is burning your own. For less than the cost of the chip you can buy all the stuff to burn your own PROMs. I chose not to get into that because I don't plan on running the stock GM EFI when I modify the engine.
You won't be able to compensate for this problem mechanically. The fuel tables in the PROM need to be adjusted. The pulsewidth of the injectors needs to be shortened since the injectors flow more than the stock 22s.

What
How do you know the injectors are "stuck open"? If they all were, the car would not run. I'm thinking you have another problem. Don't jump the gun and say you got a bad part...approach it analyticaly to find the source. If you don't have a service manual, go get one.

Most overlooked thing I find when running 6 spd cars is most peopel never both to get a correct VSS signal to the ecm. Whether u run the adapter mmechanically or electronically u need it for the car to run right. No VSS signal gets u a code 24 and your blm will be stuck in cell 4 and since u have 16 cells for fueling it will not run right nor at a 100% :-)
something to think about if u dont have it set up properly.
