Stroked 305???
I found a stroker kit for my car that would make it a 335 and was wondering if anybody has seen this done or have heard about it? i was just curious how much power it would add with the stroke and a bigger cam?

in short, strokers are expensive to build. i think rebuilding a 305 is ok, especially if it is the only engine you have as in my case. but unless you just want to be different, building a 335 stroker doesnt make much financial sense. for the money you would have in a 335 stroker, you could build a 350. personally i think a standard displacement 305 is a great engine depending on your goals. many of us here have NA 305s in the 13s. there are a few more in the 11s and 12s with power adders on 305s. 305s are great engines, so are 350s. but when it comes to custom displacement combinations, from the money standpoint, a 335 doesnt make a whole lot of sense. but i certainly applaud all the guys that have built 335s and are making power with them, uniqueness is what hotrodding is all about, if we all had 350s this would be a pretty boring place.

yeah i talked to g guy the other day that was down the street from me that does motor work and has an 88' Z and i told him what i wanted to do and he told me that he would build me a 350 roller motor and install it for the same price that i was gonna do the stroker for. so it looks like im gonna do that instead of the stroker. so i think that would be the better decision.
