383 tpi? possible?
Is it possible to use tpi on a 383 stroker? What are the benefits besides what fuel injection brings. Lets say you take tpi from a 350, is there a way that can fit a 383?
Also another question it might be off. But how does an LS-1 compare to a 383 ?
If anyones read about the new vette, it comes with an LS-2 slightly dif from the ls-1 but with Displacement on Demand. Getting v-4 fuel economy on the highway and stuff. That's a big step for Chevy. What do you guys think, what it would be worth the wait for the LS-2?

A 383 is nothing but a modified 350. TPI will bolt on just fine....it's not really well-suited though as TPI tends to run out of breath fairly easily and a 383 will be sucking a LOT of air. A TPI-upgrade system (such as a SuperRam or StealthRam) or a converted LT1 intake will breath much better and you can use the TPI electronis and such.
The LS1 is a totally different animal. Better materials, newer technology...it's more motor, but it's also more money.
Displacement on demand isn't that big a step. They put it in Caddy's years ago and it was bad about getting stuck in 4-cyl mode. Maybe this new incarnation will be more reliable.....either way it's one more thing to fix when it breaks, and it'll likely be VERY expensive to fix.

An aftermarket TPI on a 383 will make tons of low and mid-range torque. Top end will suffer. My set-up pulls hard to abt 4800 RPM, then drops off quickly. Makes for a really fun street eng, but it's not so great at the track.
Really depends on what you want to do with your car.

I agree that a stock TPI on a 383 would run out of breath too early. I also agree that EFI is a good thing. So..., I'd recommend a Stealth Ram or Super Ram, they flow more than a factory TPI, and it should hang in there up into the higher rpms. You might also want to go with 30# injectors.

383 tpi with tt?
It made sound ridiculous but a 383 with tpi runs out of the breath high in the rpms but what about with 1 turbo or even 2? I've seen the twin turbo project by a person whose name I don't remember, but he used carb on his website. It seems like alot of work.

Scoggin dickey makes a TPI intake manifold for Vortec heads. I don't know what years are compatable though. The rest of the TPI runners and plenum bolts directly to the manifold just like OE.
Are the early vortecs the same as the late?
You can blow or turbo charge an engine through a TPI, but the TPI will ALWAYS be constricting to top end airflow. That doesn't mean it can't make big numbers, but other intakes with the same set-up will make bigger numbers.
