I need detailed pictures/descriptions

Ok, Im getting my car back together...finaly...and I need pictures and descriptions on how EXACTLY the ignition coild braket gets bolted to the intake, and I need to see a set of pictures of a 1985-1987 TPI 305 Vbelt set up. and how the brackets are bolted to the block. Im so close to getting this done...ARG!!! This is what I get for not taking pictures, and taking my sweet time putting the car together.

Thanks in advanced guys!

Coil bracket? The '85-87 TPIs used the HEI distributor with the coil in the cap.

eh...nope.
My dad has owned the car since new, and its always had the seperate coil. There is deffinatly a braket that is attached to my MSD coil, and it also has the EGR thing...cant think of the name now...attached to the bracket. Even when I picked up a new cap and rotor, they gave me the same thing I have, just a cap and rotor, no place for a coil to sit. I would think such a large thing would be hard and right to jam behind and under the plenum extention? Its a very tight fit as is.
I will have to take a picture of it. Im pretty sure it gets bolted back to the last 2 intake bolts, but Im not sure.

Yeah my 87 has the separate coil too. However, I can't help you out because when I bought the car it was just sort of lying on the valve cover/intake base. I mounted it on the firewall.

Right. I was mistaken. The '85-'86 have the integral coil.

Oh boy do I know what you are going through
I spent the better part of two days trying to figure out how the stupid A/C bracket went back together.
It is goofy IMO.
The coil bracket goes on the back two bolts with the lip facing twards the centert of the intake with the coil bolted to the outside (facing the passenger side, connectors inboard)
Hope that made sense.
The EGR solenoid bracket will go on the forward of the two bolts that hold the coil bracket.

Now for the fun part...
I don't have my camera back from the fix it shop so I hope I can give you some verbal help. I'm doing this from memory so I hope you can follow what I'm saying.
The exhaust manifold must be on the drivers side.
There is a long bracket that bolts to the block under the poer steering pump.
That part holds the vertical bracket that looks like a fork (kind of anyway) that will fit into the top bracket which holds the compressor (large one that bolts to the water neck thermostat housing)
The other part will bolt to the water pump to support the power steering pump and also give some places to mount the A/C bracket.
Wish I had better pics for you.
Let me know if you need more and I'll go out to the garage and get you a better explaination.

I need a quzi-retarded step by single step process on how to put back the AC and PS pump.

I dont know what bolts or brackets go where. I dont mean to be a douche bag, but I need like pictures of bolts and whatnot!!
Ugh...Ill try to piece together what I can from the pictures. Just take as many of that area as you can.

little more

Well I had a complete write up on how to do this until my image was too big
So I'll do this again...
Bolt on the bracket that goes on the head (pic 1 above)
Then install the PS pump.
Install the "loop bracket" onto the front two intake bolts.
Install the "fork" looking one onto the exhaust manifold. (if you have headers you'll need to put spacers in to get the same distance as the stock manifold had)
Then put the compressor in place and install the "top" bracket.
There is also a bolt for the top bracket at (or near) the thermostat housing.
Then there is a "bar" that connects the A/C bracket to the exhaust manifold stud. I could get mine back on because of interference (even though it came off the same motor )
It hasn't thrown the belt so I think its ok.
Hope you can find all the parts

another...
Look closely at the front two bolts on the intake. I painted it black so its not real easy to see.

top bracket "might" be bolted to the water pump, hard to see now that its installed.

Ok, well im looking at you picture, and it makes sence...only I have headres and that AC bracket doesnt exaclty go where its supposed to be in your picture.

What I am really worried about is the PS. I put back everything else, but the AC condencer, so im not gunna put int he compressor. I need to know where the PS brackets get hooked up too...

and man, I owe you several rounds of drinks.

ok, I went back and I forgot about the EGR solinoid...
It goes on the front two bolts?
Ive looked around the site for other info on the PS pump, and people have created brakets and such, but none seem to fit what I need.

You will need some spacers on the header bolts to put the A/C bracket on, but since your getting rid of it you will need to fab something to hold the oute PS bolt in place.
I think from here its measure twice and cut once
The EGR solenoid was connceted to the bottom of the coil bracket on the second bolt in from the back. (at least until I removed mine)

ahhhhhhhhh crap...didnt want that to happen.

Fabbing something up...joy. I think Im gunna cut up the AC bracket. If and when the AC gets put back on in the future...Ill use an aftermarket serp set up.

edit: wait...Ill just use that braket, and then not put in the AC....gunna be the only way.
so I need to come up with some spacers...time to go to HD.

Some little chuncks of tubing over some longer bolts should be all thats needed on the header.
Cut up the side A/C bracket and use it as the lower mount. You should be able to get rid of the whole top of it.
Will be a PITA to cut it though without a gas ratchet (as I call it)

don't need to cut anything on the AC bracket.
theres 2 PS pump brackets, AC and non AC.
ou can use either, just the AC one looks out of place since there's parts you don't need.
I had my PS pump mounted with the AC bracket, using no AC forawhile until I found a V8 non AC parts car and used the right brakcet.

here are pics of both, sorry no scanner so I had to take a pic of the diagram. They are big pics, but they show everything you need.

looks like you'l still need the spacer at the headers but that's an easy fix. Boy that first pic alone you posted would have saved me about a day of head scratching back in December. Glad it's working out for you.

I picked up an old parts listing manual off ebay a few years ago. worth every cent i spent only covers 82-89 unfortunately, but it's close enough to get me most of what I need.
Has listings for damn near every nut and bolt on the car

I think you would need #10

look at nut #7, follow the line back and it goes through #10, to the pump, that's the nut that tightens on the pump to hold it in place for adjustment tightening the belt.

And yup all GM part numbers, as you figured out.
