A stupid question...
OK This may sound stupid, so please don't pick on me, haha. I'm a Camaro guy and even though a firebird is the same car, I'm not familiar with the different models, and I get confused. I have been looking for a TPI T/A or GTA 91-92 model.
Now, to me this car looks like a GTA:
but it's not. It's a 5.0 TPI, what are the differences between this car and a GTA??? (other than the motor and badges, obviously)
What is the difference between a formula 350 and a GTA (other than body work)????
Why have I seen Trans Am's with 305 TBI's???
If someone can explain all the different models and options from a base v6 up to the GTA, that would be awesome
I WANT a 91 GTA, but will settle for a look-a-like as long as it has a TPI setup in it. (like the one in the photo)

Gta's come with a 305 TPI also (LB9). That appears to be a GTA. Just repatinted with a pin stripe and no badges have been put back on.

I'm gonna buy it, its mint, it has 95k miles, but the car is soooooo clean inside and out, and its a South Florida car... minimal rust on the underbody.

That red one is an Anny car ( 20th ) I believe. Best firechicken made ( 3rd gen ) IMO. If you want a 5 speed ....you can ONLY get it in a 305 configuration .

That is a very sharp 91 T/A. All GTA's had gold wheels and WS6 suspension. It likely doesn't have the WS6 package because the center caps have a bird on them instead of a WS6 emblem. Some of the older GTA's had a bird on the center caps though. You can check the RPO codes in the lockable storage compartment to verify if it has it or not. It would also say "Performance Suspension" on the passenger side of the dash. GTA's also came with upgraded "Ultima" seats. A good site for more info on GTA's is http://www.gtasourcepage.com
