Twin Turbo TPI
Here's a Twin Turbo TPI car I saw at the Paso Car show on Memorial day weekend..... Not sure if I should post it in the TPI or Turbo forum, but it caught my eye.

That is one of the biggest hack jobs I have ever seen. Love the pepsi bottle overflow jug.
I am looking at doing this and I was hoping to see something cool, that was downright fugly!

That thing's frickin awesome, it's not supposed to have a bunch of plastic crap like that under the hood. As for the overflow, it was done by design. When was the last time you saw a glass pepsi bottle being sold at a store?

What a mess!!! How can you be so penny wise and dollar foolish? The parts cost some serious money (engine & turbos) and then the time to fabricate it... why would you just go so chintzy on the body and the rest of the car?

I think by the turbo system itself, It is a simple and effective design. I think by the picture as a whole, the fact that it's not actually in a 3rd gen, may get it a negative reaction.

Ever hear of a work in progress? Or perhaps true hot rodding roots, where all of your budget is in "go fast" and little in "look cool". Call me crazy, but my next project is a "Rat Rod". That is if I can brainwash the wife into another project. 88 IROC, 99 Tahoe, 54 Chevy pick up, etc.......

I agree with Daniel some here...its obviously not finished. We have historic race cars that look that ugly while we are restoring them but turn out beautiful when were through. Functionality first, cosmetics last. Those intake pipes and headers will eventually get coated Im sure...the fabrication will be finished and filled, maybe painted who knows. Boyd's show demonstrates that. Bunch of monkeys beating on crap with hammers all episode, but at the end the car looks awesome (thank the body shop boys 90% of the time)...

Although you can't see it in the pic, the rod is a "Fordish" somthing. I was impressed that he/she chose a GM intake and wheels(2WD Truck 88-98). The term "Built Ford tuff with Chevy stuff" comes to mind.

I haven't seen so much cheese since I stopped at the dairy at the grocery
store....
Hopefully he just had stuff laying around and threw it all together, that way
he can say he only spent $10-12 bucks on it....

All I know is after watching Pinks, this guy could show up on tv with that Rat Rod and take somebody's shiny toy away.
Power might not be pretty but I have to think twin turbos add plenty of giggles to the equation. Just might surprise the hell out of some preppy in a new Roush crustang or something...
Happy Holiday....

...comon guys, the car is obviously not done. There's spot welds all over where they've shaved body lines and redone panels, somethings are even still just tacked. The Pepsi bottle, I would have to agree, is obviously done on purpose.

I have BBSDesigns in my favorite places, go there now though and all their kits say "discontinued".
