Still running rich as Hell....

I made a thread on this a month ago and here is the deal. My car is running very rich... Here is what I have done.

Checked resistance on all injectors... all in the range of 17-17.5 Ohms..

Leak checked injectors... holds pressure for hours.

Coil has been replaced.

Timing is at 7*

IAC has been replaced

TPS has been replaced

I have a 355, running 19lb injectors.... So basically I have a 305 setup on a 355... prom is stock too...

need some advice guys.

i had the same problem until a got a stock 350prom and some 23lb accel injectors. i went thought the hole 305 to 350 switch too. so i know your pain. whats funny is that at an idol you run rich and at upper rpms you end up running lean . iam still working all the bugs out with the switch. i still need the 350esc module and knock.

good luck,
mike

no choice. you need that prom changed too. see about hooking it up to a meter and seeing what the air/fuel ratio is. and btw with no cat youll get flames and smoke any way. having no cat is also why you smell fumes so badly.

yeah sounds like you should be running lean everywhere based on teh fact that you have a 305 chip and injectors on a 355. L98 350's had 22lbs.

hows your O2 sensor? make sure thats workin good. No cat will make it smell bad anyway tho. i guess you could check the spark plugs to see if they have fuel on them and smell really strong of gas.

else the simplest thing to do is just go 22lb injectors and 350 prom. or keep the 19's and do a adj pressure regulator and crank that sucker up. i'd do the 22's tho.

also just another thought but make sure the fuel pressure reg is good. i had one that the diaphragm broke and gas was running through the line into the intake. made it run real rich. couldn't figure it out either

I have an AFPR what psi is stock... I am not asking what is best for my setup because that is a variable... but what should a stock 350 have... with 22 lb injectors... what should I use on a stock 350 with 19lb injectors?

if you still running the tpi intake

if you still running the tpi intake the flutes in the exhaust maniflod that control exhaust going into your intake for cold idle sould be frozen up or not working it sounds like your o2 sensor is getting outside air you might have a leak in your exhaust system b4 the o2 sensor that will trick the sensor into thinking your running lean so it will tell the comp to richin it up

Check one of the vacuum lines to see if there's good vacuum. A stuck open EGR valve could the problem. Also check O2 sensor, MAP sensor, Coolant temp. sensor and IAT. Check spark plugs and wires. That could also be the problem.
