SUCCESS!
my car had been giving me problems for a while. for a few months it was slowly running richer and richer and then eventually not starting without starter fluid- then it got bad and when the car would run hot, i couldn't get the RPM to raise above 500 or else it would die.
after my fix this and change that phase, a member suggested i OHM test my injectors. my injectors came out as follows:
[drivers side] [passenger side]
1.) 28.8 ohms 5.) 3.2 ohms
2.) 5.8 ohms 6.) 17.0 ohms
3.) 10.1 ohms 7.) 17.2 ohms
4.) 17.6 ohms 8.) 2.8 ohms
for months i spent hundreds of dollars on ignition modules, spark plugs, distributor assembly, o2 sensor, wires, all sorts of things... i should have listened and tested the injectors but i was so damn antsy to get the car running, that i was convinced "ohh no.. this will fix it, FOR SURE!"
i noticed a few members on her had the same symptoms on here that i did, and still couldnt figure out what was ailing their car. i hope they read this and try their injectors cuz i sure as hell know its a big relief knowing where to start...
**i do have a question though- should injector #1 be at 28.8 ohms? cuz as it stands now i plan on replacing injectors 2, 3, 5, and 8.

Replace the whole set. Buying them individually or... *gasp* from GM is going to kill your wallet. You should be able to find a suitable set (whether from Ford or elsewhere, I hate to recommend Accel but they make some) for less than $300 for the entire set.

Re: SUCCESS!
Accel 19lb is actually what I was looking at, $44 an injector. even at $44 an injector you think i should get a whole set?
also... whats the deal with #1 injector, 28 ohms is that normal? should that be replaced?

Re: SUCCESS!
You ought to do a search on ebay for "19 pound injectors". I've seen quite a few sellers that offer brand new Ford SVO injector sets for right around $200. The SVO injectors are supposed to be a more reliable injector anyways. Besides that, I agree with the other guys that it'd be kinda dumb to just replace individual ones. If you have that many injectors already that far outta whack, it probably won't be long before the rest of them fail anyways. The 19 lb. SVO's are the orange colored ones IIRC.

i agree, replace them all. it will save you some head aches later on.
there have been a number of people on here who have had problems with Accel injectors.
when i replace mine, im going with SVOs.

Re: SUCCESS!
Another vote for replacing them all. Don't full around as the other injectors are probably not far behind in failing. You only want to do this once.
