Pick up coil?

Hey guys, I need to find out the part number for the pickup coil for my '88 350 GTA. It has the external coil with the small cap dist. I hear this part is only like $8-10.
I would really like to get the part from MSD; but if you have Accel's part number, then I guess that would be fine too. Also, I need to find out what tool is needed to remove the pin from the distributor gear and where I can find a new pin?
Thanks, Rick

Not sure on the part number for the P/U coil from GM, but the GP Sorenson part # I have is EL357. Just tap the pin out with a punch and then tap the same one back in when you're done.

You can look the part # up at http://www.carparts.com - I didn't know Accel or MSD made pick-up coils! Accel and Holley make spark modules for your distributor, MSD only makes the 4-pin module.

I would expect a pickup coil to cost quite a bit more than that too.

No, it really is less than a $10 part pretty much regardless of who makes it.

Hey guys,
Sup? I just ordered an AC Delco pick up coil. It cost me 10 something plus tax. By the way, I fixed the huge header leak (the bolts didn't fall off 'cause they were rusted to the max) and now the car feels like 20 hp stronger (actually, it just recovered what it already had). Also fixed the bent and kinked fuel line going into the base. Hopefully I can go to the track soon and see if I run better. I have a feelin' I will. hahaha

<font face="Verdana, Arial" size="2"> Rick,
If you have the dual connector coil, use the MSD-8226.

Subject: Pick Up Coil [STI2001030800000182242226]

Hey AC, how are you?
I need to get me a new "pick up coil" for my car. It's a '88 Trans Am 350
(TPI) with the small cap distributor. I was wondering if you could give me
a part number from MSD or any other reputable brand.
Thanks, Rick </font>
The above was an e-mail I wrote to AC from summitracing.com. Just in case you are interested. Too late for me now, I already bought my part.
