BLUE PRINT 383 TPI?
well my 305 tbi is on its way out i have been picking up parts for a tpi swap now for some time and i have every thing i need now but a good motor.
i have been looking in to this http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...61056_-1_10763 and for 3099 bux it seams like a good deal
im not looking to set any land speed records but it would be nice to nock out a few of the fox body guys that call the 3rd gen the W/T (white trash) edition.
im a lil worried about computer tuning of the tpi ecm not a lot of places do it out here im Michigan that i know of.
would the ecm even have to be tuned?
and my last question is has anyone picked this moter up or used any buleprit product?

Re: BLUE PRINT 383 TPI?
I actually just installed a Blueprint Crate Motor a couple of weeks ago. I installed the Vortec 355. I bought mine from Rockauto.com. I didn't go with the full dressed engine so it didn't come with the carb, balancer, flexplate or ignition but everything else was there. Seems to run good although I blew 3rd gear out of my tranny so waiting to get that fixed and get some more break in miles on it before really seeing what it does. It's hard to get a motor with power and torque like that and still a 50,000 mile warranty.

The price is what caught my eye. I have been looking for a 383 for some time and most start at 4k and up depending on the power numbers. To me it looks like a good bang for the buck but, im a lil worried the tpi intake will take a lot from the ending numbers. It souldent be to bad

Re: BLUE PRINT 383 TPI?
If you run a TPI intake on that motor you will have to buy a Vortec base for the TPI, another~ $350-$400, also you are running a 5 speed so your flywheel will not work, you will have to buy a special balanced flywheel for a two piece rear main seal motor, and finally the T5 will die a quick death behind that 383 TPI

Here is a link to Scoggin Dickey Vortec 350TPI motor, the website doesent give many details but it comes with the TPI vortec base, and the engine is a one piece RMS so you flywheel will works as well.
