What AFR heads for 11-12 sec. 350 TPI, 190cc, 195cc, 210cc or what??
I'm trying to decide my mods will be for the IROC 350 TPI once I get it, which I will be wanting to get in the 11's-12's, and I will have to get heads for those kind of times, so what cc should I get?? Cam and base recommendations are cool too.
Thanks!!

If you are gunning for the 11s, and are going to use just a 350, not a larger motor, I would go with the 195s. That way, you can use either a Mini Ram or a modded TPI set up. I would go with a large cam with those heads, the LT4 HOT Cam I am running I think would work well. You could also look at the line up of cams from companies like Comp Cams or Crane Cams, or also the Big SLP Cam would probably work well.

So I should go with the 195's right?? The air intake is going to be a modified TPI. LTR's, ported plenum, modded airbox, maybe a SU145 MAF, maybe a 52mm TB, and other stuff, not too sure about what cam and intake base yet. I want to keep that really good lower RPM TQ of the TPI with some good HP too.

I am going to a setup similar to yours. I am getting the 195's with a edelbrock base(ported like TPiS bigmouth) and crane cam with 495'' 503'' on a 112 (like Traxions cam)center lobe. Seemsd like everything is going to work well
Somebody please explain to me how to fit the AFR 195cc heads onto a stock or similar to stock (eg. edelbrock, accel e.t.c.) intake manifold. I have a set of AFR 190 heads and when I ordered them direct from AFR the salesman warned me that the 195s will not work because of the height of the intake runners on the intake base not matching to the heads. Tell me that this guy was wrong so I can call back to AFR and bitch.. Or have all you guys been "hogging" the runners on the bases to match the runners on the heads? In which case, you should make this guy aware that if he buys the 195's he better be ready to port match his base to the heads.

Hey Dan87, if you were to use the SLP cam in the above setup, were you referring to the 51006 or the 51010? Thanks.
