Replaced EGR now getting code 32

I finally got my EGR replaced the other day and in the process the wire that goes to the little sensor on the EGR Valve broke off. I soldered it back on and now I'm getting a code 32 when I startup my car after it's been setting awhile. I can shut it off after the engine reaches about 160 degrees, start it back up and the light doesn't come back on till it sets for awhile again. I think when I soldered it back on the sensor got to hot a screwed it up. What is this sensor? Can I get this from the dealership or anyone have one? What do I ask for? I wasn't getting a code before even before I replaced the EGR valve. Vader you was right it was my EGR that was bad I guess weak spring. Thanks

26,

The diagnostic temperature sensor may have been damaged from the soldering. Heat may have conducted along the copper lead wire to the sensing junction, exceedign the temperature it was designed to tolerate.

Your only recourse may be to replace the sensor. The ECM scans for a temperature reading at the sensor when the engine is in closed-loop mode, and a dead sensor can effect a code 32 just like a dead EGR solenoid can.

jobryan26, I beleive the part you want is from wells,it should be part number ET101
and the price is $6.85.Plus whatever they charge for their shipping and Etc.They have a requst form so you can ask them if they have the part in stock and what the total price will be with shipping and handling. You'll find the part if you look under the category,"Emmision and Smog"then click on your year, make, model, and Vin, Etc,then scroll down to the very bottom for the category called "Emmsion Parts,Miscellaneous".And i beleive the company calls it a EGR Valve Temperature Switch.Good Luck man.Al in NJ

And by the way,i appologize for any confusion,i realized after i made this name that theres another name called 86TpiTransAm while my name is 86TransAmTPI.Sorry for any confusion, ill usually post my signature with my replies or my webpage.See Yas
