1985 IROC Z Upgrades
Hey guys, I have a 1985 IrocZ28 5.0 TPI with 43k miles on it and Im looking to get some upgrades for it in the near future. I only want a few little things as I want to keep the car clean and high in value. I was looking at a stealthram intake, but thats as far as I got. Can you guys recomend me some cheaper upgrades?

Re: 1985 IROC Z Upgrades
I have the same car you do. I am adding all sorts of stuff. I have a B&M Mega shifter, a Grant polised aluminum steering wheel. I got a Powertrax for the rearend so I dont have just one wheel pulling. I also got a new cam, Voodoo 250, also a 2400 stall converter. As soon as I get home from Iraq I will be putting the cam and converter in. My car is a daily driver. So it just depends on what you want to do with your car as to what you can put in it. Hope this helps some.

Yea I was thinking a wild cam. I guess I will go with voodoo since they are dirt cheap. Just gotta figure out which one to get. Also have been thinking about the b&m shifter too.

Just remember to stay mild with the cam unless you plan on getting the equipment to reprogram your computer.

Headers for sure. Shorty headers are easier to install on our cars.
Re: 1985 IROC Z Upgrades
The first upgrade I might consider for the '85 models would be a later ECM and wire harness. The '85 ECM is going to be very limiting. The swap is invisible, and shouldn't detract from the value of the vehicle, but will enable you to have a lot more lattitude in programming.
