MAF 305 & 350 the same?

Im having to replace my MAF on my 89 305 TPI IROC 5-Speed. I replaced both the relays and it still runs like crap with the MAF plugged in, but it runs fine with it disconnected. My freind plugged into a testor and it says the MAF is bad, he has a good one from an 89 350 TPI (he thinks it is anyway) will this work on my car? and is there a way to tell which one he has?

Thanx

just disconnect the neg for a minute or so, the reconnect and drive the car up to temp. then go home and check codes again. if you have the code again...chances are its bad.

wouldn't it just be easier to take out the fuse for the ECM for a minute?
