are you looking for a rebuild kit or for some one to do the work for you? If kit i think u can get one for about 150-200 from powerhouse and it comes with rings bearings and all gaskets.

I know, lets start another 305 vs 350 argument!

Why spend the money to rebuild a 305 when a 350 costs almost the same?

Re: engine rebuild price on tpi's

To do mine it cost me about $4500. That included the shop removing and installing the engine, a new clutch, new rotating assembly, a camshaft upgrade, all necessary machine work to the heads and block, and the replacement of a few sensors and tune up components. There were some shops in town that quoted me higher, but this seems to be a reasonable estimate to do the job right.

If you are planning on running nitrous in your motor, I recommend you upgrade the pistons to forged pistons. I know that speed pro has some good forged pistons that run about $40 each from summit racing, but am not quite sure on the price. I also recommend that you upgrade to stronger connecting rods than stock. I also recommend doing a little bit of head work, and going to a better camshaft. I don't know what cam you have in it now, but a warmer cam is going to help wake up the motor a bit. I don't know how long you will be able to run 150 hp shot of nitrous in an engine that has been basically built to stock specs.

Because that's just a waste of a stroker crank.

Re: engine rebuild price on tpi's

There is always going to be the 305 vs 350 rebuild. It always comes up when such a thread as this is posted. Quite frankly, I think that this is not because the pro 350 guys comments are invalid. As a platform for making power the 350 is without a doubt a better place to start than a 305. However, you have to ask your self what it is that you want to do with the car? Do you want the fastest thing on the street, or do you want a nice, numbers matching classic car.
Only after you have answered this questions for yourself, can you make a decision about which approach to take. Neither approach is wrong. You just have to figure out which approach is the best for you.
