Has anyone JET HOT coated their intake pieces?

Anyone? Anyone? Class? Anyone? Just thinking that it might help keep the intake charge down a little as well as look good. Any thoughts? I am considering doing it.

Another option is to get it all powder coated. I may be doing this. Haven't seen it on tpi, but I have seen a fox pusstang with a red powder coated intake--it looked really good. I think the key here (like when you're changing the paint or the interior colors) would be to make sure it matches. Depending on what you do, it could look really good or really horrible. Pretty obvious, I know.

Powder coating the TPI intake pieces looks nice, but it's not a thermal coating.

hey Raptor Pilot you beat me to asking this!!

i have seen a few setups people have using exhaust tubbing, i did an experiment on an Integra that i used to have before my GTA. where i wrapped up the intake with insulation, and since weaker 4 cylinder engine are more effected (noticably) by engine temps, i could always tell the difference when had cooler air coming in (had a temp sensor hooked up in the intake). and after i insulated everything it ran alot cooler and better, then the same day i did it some WOMEN turned in front of me and needless to say im now driving a GTA.

my opinion its well worth getting it coated.

Isn't ceramic coating on the headers supposed to keep the heat in the headers to improve thermal properties of the exaust flow?

Well, an insulator is an insulator. If you put pipe wrap on a hot pipe in a cold environment, then you will help keep the pipe's contents hot. Similarly, if you put insulation on a cold pipe in a hot environment, you help keep the pipe's contents cold.

However, I don't much about JET-HOT other than it's supposed to keep the heat in the headers (i.e. insulate the header pipes). I would assume that it acts like other insulators in this regard.
