I have an 89 GTA, L98 motor. Oil pressure is always between 15 and 30. What can i do to get it higher?

What weight oil are you running, what type, and how long between oil changes?

best to manually check the oil pressure to
assure the 'real' pressure. possible sending unit
or gauge is incorrect. assuming the pressure is
low and forming a repair without testing is
quite expensive.
oil pressure is related to the clearences in
the engine. the looser the clearences the
lower the pressure.
most gauges are for reference and not gospel.
at idle 12-15psi is plenty. the rule of thumb:
10 pounds of pressure per thousand rpms
over pressure is drag through the pump.

The oil pressure sender fails on these cars, due to its location above the oil filter on the 89 and newer. If its ok, and the gauge is working properly then you've got a problem with the oil pump, or the engine itself.

They do say to use 5w-30 but that is a thin oil most people I think run 10w-30 and some thange thair oil from 5w-30 winter to 10w 30 or 10w-40 in the summer. As for your oil presure problem you do need to manualy check it if it is low then their is usaly two things that couse it oil pump or barrings both jobs a pian to do in are cars unless you have acsess to a lift and a trans jack.
