LS1 injectors on tpi?

I am in the process of building my tpi up, and I am down to the end. I have a bbk 58mm tb and afpr and the ram ported to match the tb, slp runners and a port matched base and siamesed openings on the ram also. All I need are injectors... I have been looking around for a good set, and the other day I talked to a friend that had some stock LS1 injectors. He says they will fit and work well on my car.

Does anyone know if they will actually fit and use the same wiring? Will I need to modify anything to make them work?

they will fit, but they are 23lb in you car. the ls1 runs rail pressure of 58 where we run 43.5.

Re: LS1 injectors on tpi?

I read that the LS1 injectors are 28#, and I have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator that I believe will go high enough for them.

He is right if they are 98, 01, or 02 injectors because they were 28 lb injectors at 58 psi. If they are 99 or 2000 model injectors, they are only 26 lb, and would be less than your factory injectors on your fuel pressure. Get a set of SVO 30's, and never worry about it again.

Re: LS1 injectors on tpi?

The LS1 injectors are a different height. Some third genners have had fuel leaks. Do a search on this matter. I have posted several times about the height differences. I believe that due to fuel leaks, SLP has stopped selling LS1 injectors as replacements in 3rd gen EFI cars.

SVO does not exist anymore. I recommend that you install Ford Racing 24#/hr injectors. I have been running mine for 12 years now.

Yep, my dad's engine is having that problem right now. The LS1 injectors are slightly shorter, and they do not have the injector holding clips that keep them securely in the fuel rails. So they leak a lot.

Re: LS1 injectors on tpi?

moez28, my comment was not an insult, dont take it that way. You and I know that SVO has become Ford Racing,,, but others may not know that. That is why, I correct the use of SVO if I post in the thread.

There is a very simple solution to this problem. Some of the newer design/style injectors are approx 1/4" shorter than the stock injectors. (TPI). All you need to do is apply a second oring and you will never have a problem with leakage again. That second oring will give the additional length that you are missing. As for the clips, not necessary, the pressure from the fuel rail holds them in place. We would be more than happy to help you. We have a huge inventory of injectors, I am sure that we can help you find what you need and we will also provide you with the additional orings and installation instructions.

Re: LS1 injectors on tpi?

heres food for thought....

i talked to a friend who is in tool and die and he said why not mill the parts where the fuel rail down for the shorter injectors? Thwn, if you wanted to run the stock height injector put a spacer in between the fuel rail and intake

you can do that but, the injector is 1/4 inch to short. if you mill the stands do not take off more than 1/8 inch. if you take too much the fuel rail will hit the runner tubes. the 1/8 will work

why mill if all it takes is an additional oring? seems to be alot easier to me
