head cam.

I have 305 tpi and i was wondering if 140414416 (I might buy) heads are better than 14101081(I have but need to be rebuilt)? also I would get a "RV cam" what ever that is with the heads if I buy then. I guess I was wondering if those are better than my stock heads and cam. thanks in advance.
the noob.

Re: head cam.

The RV cam is ancient, it was popular in the 70's. Decent torque with alright hp. As far as the 416's vs the 081's, they flow pretty much identical with eachother. Plus they both have 1.84/1.50 valves.

Re: head cam.

dont get sold short on the rv cam

its kind of like a small block chevy

yeah its old but just how much better is the ls1 for the price

just add some 1.6 roller tip rockers and some z28 springs

thats all you need for street rompin tire spinnin goodness

unless you have all kinds of money for overpriced car parts

I suggest save your money for the gas you spend doing a burnout and chippin second

They both have 58cc chambers, so yes.

the 416's heads and the cam are both out of a 305 long block for $100

but I will have to look into those valve springs and rockers.

Re: head cam.

RV cam = High lift low duration, makes more torque at lower rpm, less hp at higher rpm.
