What else is currently done to your car now? That cam would probably need some PROM tuning to see a real gain in power. The LSA angle of that cam is 110 which is low for a fuel injected car. Also, you picked out a flat tappet cam. Your motor is a roller cam motor. The flat tappet will work in your engine, but you can make more power by going with a roller cam.

It will need to be retuned after changing the cam, whatever you end up choosing.

I didnt know a flat tappet cam could work in a roller motor.

I take it you have your stock heads? If you do they will choke it out. You would need to get new valve springs in order to handle the extra lift and that cam has.489''/.504''. I believe the stock heads max out at .480, and anything more than that you may need to get the heads machined. Im sure somebody will chime in to fill in the gaps on what Im talking about.

Re: another "this cam?" question...

Dont put a flat tappet cam in a roller block... you leave a lot of power on the table doing that. And you lose long term durability and reliability. Gotta worry about oils, break in, wiping a lobe at some point... tappet metal wearing and depositing itself into bearings... etc.

If everything goes well, the mount of metal that wears off is minimal, but def not zero. Dont skimp on the oil changes.

Re: another "this cam?" question...

Ive been told the ZZ4 cam is a nice upgrade. You can run the stock tune with it but of course to get the full potential of the cam a tune is in order.

Re: another "this cam?" question...

if your TPI still has stock runners, plenum, and throttle body, you do not need that much cam, typically TPI falls on its face around 4800 rpm, and is designed for low end torque. I would not suggest that much cam unless you are going to do more to the engine to get the umpf outta that cam.

Im running 276/280, .502/.520, 113 degree separation. Its actually a marine application, but for twin turbos, I wanted the big separation for less overlap under boost, and high revs. I run a Holley Stealth Ram with Brodix RT heads, and this cam is good to 6200 rpm.
