tpi 350 ram air?
just wondering on the idea of ram air. I have a base firebird, which ive taken that 2.8 out, and now have a tpi 350 with a t-5. Without chopping the hood, or fenders, i was wondering on a ram air setup, maybe from down by the radiator opening? I like the fact that my car looks like a base firebird, ie has no ground effects, just spoiler and gta wheels are add ons, but gives the combo of a tpi 350, a t-5, and 4.10 gears. Anyone made a stealthy but good functioning ram air?

i think that would be pretty hard, i know the camaros have a platic part in the front where the tpi intake routes to but the firebird has metal IIRC so without cutting it and actually fabbing up a ram air setup i think youre pretty limited to your options

yeah, i was planning on having to fab one up, i guess ill have to do some mocks and development. That MAF makes it a bit more difficult too

id say take a camaro intake setup and then cut and fab, the firebird routes off to the passenger side correct? i always thought that was pretty lame lol even on the GTA's

the TPI has the air filter built into the front end and the TBI has the old school cleaner, i think you could be alright with cutting up the front like i said before, but i think you might wanna reinforce it a bit

If you decide to put on a glass hood, or cut air inlets into it, you can do it the way mine is set up.

You need a ram air hood.. though there's no "air box" in mine.. the snorkels just end pretty much in the dead space above the filter. I notice they did reinstall the MAF upside down on the back end of the filter box. But it seems to work fine.. though the MAF whistles like an SOB in that configuration, and you can hear it quite clearly when driving.
