It always started fine... untill today.
Ok guys, help me out.
I have a 1990 iroc 350 TPI. It has never given me any engine problems and has always run beautifully. Until today
I was in the middle of the street turning it around, and it just randomly died in the middle of the street. Had to have some people help push me into the garage. I just put about a quarter tank of gas in it so if that answers any low gas level on a hill questions.
It seems like its not getting any gas, but the PO said he had recently replaced the fuel pump.
Any ideas?
thanks

First I would check to see if your getting spark, it sounds like your ignition module died.

Thanks for the advice, but I went out and got dinner, came back and started it, fired right up! Any ideas what it would have been?

Well thats kind of what they do they stop working when theyre hot and then an hour later it will fire up. If it happens again just know that its the module.

under the dist. cap,you need a 5.5mm 1/4 drive socket on a nutdriver or ratchet.
they are normaly $ 20-30.

yours will be the bottom left.
get the cap and rotor off and you will see it.
coat the bottom with the silicone grease they give you before you put it in.

I can smell gas when its turning over though. And I checked most of the fuses, which one would this problem be from?

Re: It always started fine... untill today.
you need to find out what your missing, fuel or spark.
it takes fuel, spark and compression to run a motor.
i doubt it lost compression.try a shot of starting fluid so you can eliminate the fuel system.then post some results.

Would the distributer be a cause? when I took off the cap the contacts were dirty and the rotor was as well. Could I need a new distributer?
Also which fuse would be responsible for this, if any
