Re: Another 355 TPI car lays down big #'s
Man you guys are making me so jealous! I can't wait to get my 355 going. I am still debating on stock or 3.750" crank.
Seeing these results really make me want to $ave the ca$h. I tried to keep the car stock, I can't do it.

Re: Another 355 TPI car lays down big #'s
Back to Orr's car for comparison.
My 355 motor was putting down around 370rwhp. My race weight was right around 3700 pounds. Car, heavy GTA 3440 and me at 260.
So let's say in comparable air my car went 12 flat. Take away 250 pounds and we are down to 11.75. Add 25 horsepower to my motor and we are down to 11.5 sec. Very comparible to Orr's numbers of 11.4.

Good.
You need to get those runners opened up some and you will be above 400rwhp. I have some issues with my car from the dyno session. Trying to figure out why it did what it did. I have yet to have a nice smooth normal dyno graph.

Well I'm trying to find a place to open them up (hint, hint). Hopefully al the top contenders are all ready for the next dyno day to just finally break that damn 400+ RWHP. I heard about your issues you were having.

If not try the morel lifters..they say they are good for 5-10whp over factory style lifters due to the tool steel body..they wont flex under high oil pressures and bleed down at all.

my car runs 13.01 @104 and weighs about 3700 lbs with me in it, and that is in just as bad as air you guys run at california dragway. my DA is almost always over 2000 and normally around 2800-3100 at NTR
Have you ran updated times since april 3 when you you ran vincent, I think you ran a 12.9 @105 1.83 60ft. and vincent ran 12.69 @ 109 1.94 60ft. Drag times says your DA was around 1800 to 2400 that day.
nice times for both but I thought you changed converters since then?
and vincents posi was out he said that day.

I think you will run a couple tenths quicker as long as you hook, your stall was to low for stealth before
i'm opposite 3200 stall just little to high for my ltr setup.

Re: Another 355 TPI car lays down big #'s
Well you can be the first to find out.
The advantage we have here is that it only cost us $85.00 per hour to dyno our cars and Kevin91z is doing the tuning. In short, we have seen a lot of different TPI combos on the dyno and we know what works and what doesn't work. This is the information we are putting out there for the rest of you to know.
I know this for a fact and seen it for myself, a bone stock G92 350 with a full exhaust system with Dyno Don headers will produce 248-255whp@4800.
We have seen a 383 with a Vortec manifold, fully ported E-Tec 200 heads, XFI268 Cam and Super Ram make 331whp. After welding up the manifold and porting the hell out of it and changing the cam to XFI292 it made 394whp.
Another car with a fully Extrude Hone TPI Edelbrock system(manifold, runners, plenum), Fully ported Corvette L98 heads, LT4 Hot Cam and Dyno Don headers made 331whp.
Thanks to Jerrywho, he discovered how to rework the manifold and siemese the runners to make peek hp above 6000rpms. And we are still not done. We are working on making over 400whp and still pass emission in California. We are not changing parts, we are going to work with what we already have.

did you ever find out about the valvespring issue? What is the best (yet affordable) valvespring setup to be using on the 280xfi?
