its blinks like this when i turn the ignition on...

is it supposed to do this? i dont remember it doing this before and my car wont stay running..

when i put it in gear, it wants to die and it idles high in park or neutral.

Normally the light would be on when the key is switched to the on position prior to cranking. Now once the the car turns on, it may flash and stay off. But if it stays onafter it turns on, then there is an error stored in the MemCal. Now if the light turns off while driving, then the error is intermittant, (faulty sensor that just began to work properly). Most sensors have a refference voltage of IIRC, .10 - 5.0 volts. If the voltage is out of that range, the ECM will sense it and record the troublecode to that sensor. I have a book that has a good explaination of troublecodes for the TPI if your interested. PM me.

 

By the way, where in the I.E. are you from? I lived in Rialto and Hemet for a couple of years.

thats just it though! it wont even throw the intitial code 12. its like, dead. lol..

thats why i think its the ecm...

 

and i know nothing about all the MemCal and PROM tuning stuff...lol

 

If it's flashing while the engine is running the computer is sensing that there is an issue that can cause damage to the engine or emmision control devices (most likely to cat). The flashing is to get your attention so you STOP driving the car.

 

it only flashes on igniton..when i start it, it goes away..

but it does the weird fan thing after i come back to it hours later after driving it before..

 

i think i remember it being solid before when i turned the ignition on...

dont think this is normal.

 

Ill try to look for a solution in my TPI Hand book later today. I got a ton of homework to do today.
